HOST Scheme

What is HOST?

Spend a weekend, a day or Christmas meeting friendly people in a real British home, and find out about life in this country.

Many students find that a weekend in a British home in a family environment can help them learn more about British culture during their time in the UK. HOST UK is an external charity (not part of the University of Birmingham) that many international students use to arrange such a weekend or Easter break with voluntary hosts across the UK.

The University will pay a subsidy for your first visit so that you pay only £25 (for a limited number of places).  Please note that once the subsidised places have gone then the full amount of £60 is payable for a Host visit.

Remember that if you only wish to visit a town or attraction for the day, students (and their friends and families) can also attend day trips run by the Birmingham International Academy.
