City Celebration Design Competition

City Celebration Banner

Show off your skills and raise money for charity!
We are looking for our most design savvy students to help design a celebration product to be sold to raise money for the Birmingham based charity, LoveBrum. There are many reasons to celebrate the city of Birmingham, even more so with the exciting developments and upcoming events due in 2021/22. We want to see your creativity and brilliant designs to celebrate Birmingham, and to raise money for a worthy charity.

Sign up for the competition

To enter, please submit an image of your proposed design to be made into a pin badge. It must meet the theme of celebrating Birmingham. You can be as creative, and innovative as you like - think outside the box! The pin badge can be cut to a certain shape, be colourful... with the only restriction being the size (around 25-30mm).

The winning design will be created by our supply partners, Allwag, and the product will be marketed and sold across a number of avenues which will give you and your design great exposure and experience. For more information and FAQ please see the sections below.

This competition is part of a larger charity project where we will be inviting students to build Shopify shops for charities to help them start trading online, as well as working with Facebook to learn how to professionally digitally market the shops/products! Read more and register your interest below - spaces are limited.

What is the prize?

The winning design will be made into a real product, and sold to raise profits for the charity, LoveBrum. Your name can be credited, and the product will be advertised far and wide to raise as much money as possible.

Why apply?

Are you a creative person? Would you like to support a local charity? Are you thinking about starting a business and want to get your name out there?

There are so many reasons and benefits to submitting a design for this competition. In the current climate employers want to see extra-curricular activities you have taken part in whilst studying, and whether your design is chosen or not, this is a great event to put on your CV to show your skill and commitment to helping others.

What kind of product can we design?

The initial product will be a pin badge. However, we may look to put the design on other items in the future.

Who can apply?

The competition is open to all University of Birmingham students and alumni. If you have any questions about whether you qualify to apply, please email us:
