CAL Charity Boot Camp

""

Raise awareness, make a difference and help promote the charity, Sharewear, who are fighting clothing poverty.

Join us on 15 June 2022 and challenge yourself to make a difference to your local community, whilst building essential skills and experience that employers are looking for in today's graduates. Develop your ideation skills, presentation skills, marketing skills and more!

Clothing poverty is a huge issue in society. Fast fashion and clothing waste is a rising issue, and we need you to help tackle it. We are looking for a motivated group of students to work alongside the Sharewear charity.

Sharewear are a national charity who are creating change by providing clothing for those who need it and partnering with major fashion retailers to combat clothing waste.

You will work in teams of 5-6 students to come up with a strategy or event in Birmingham to raise awareness of Sharewear. Organise a clothing pop-up, run a sustainable fashion show, or create a marketing campaign... there is no need to limit your ideas.

The winning team will win £500 to help make their idea come to life!

You must be studying a course in the College of Arts and Law to take part in this Charity Challenge. All years are welcome, and no prior experience is needed.

15 June - Alan Walters Seminar Room 103

Who are Sharewear?

Sharewear provides emergency clothing, shoes and bedding to people in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, and they are looking to move their offering into Birmingham. All of their clothing has been generously donated by the public through our various donation points, and they help people in need by providing them clothing for situations such as job interviews.

You can find out more about them, and the work they do on their website:
