Vulpa

Vulpa is a stock market and trading based start-up created by University of Birmingham student Ben Williamson. The platform gives investors the freedom to intuitively design, test, build and deploy automated trading bots in real listed markets. The platform is designed to be easy to use and offers value to people of all levels of financial fluency.

Ben's story:

I have a range built trading bots for myself in order to earn money alongside my degree. My mum is interested in the financial markets but lacks any technical or programming skills. As I was making impactful investing instruments more accessible, I realised I could help everyone in my mum's situation as well. Presently, I can design, test, build and deploy bots that function on live markets. The "backend" of this process works well so I am in development of the customer-friendly interface that allows anyone to use Vulpa no matter their technical knowledge.

I'm looking forward to becoming part of the community at The Exchange where ideas and enthusiasm are shared with each other. I hope I can build connections to form a cohort-wide team of like-minded and motivated individuals so we can become greater than the sum of our parts. I aspire to gain experience in running a business to marry passions and become a more well-rounded scientist and entrepreneur so I can drive innovation and generate value for the world.

I am very enthusiastic about artificial intelligence and have been developing my own novel machine learning algorithms to tackle the current challenges facing the fields of genomics and bioinformatics. I'm always excited to talk about the near and far applications and effects the world will discover as AI technology progresses. I love using my skills as a programmer and data scientist to try to find insights in all sorts of data I can get my hands on. Primarily this has taken form in creating trading bots.
