Herbert Smith Freehills First Year Presentation: How to start thinking like a City solicitor

The smart suits, clinching the deal, winning your case…we've all heard the myths but what does life as a solicitor in a commercial firm actually involve? And how do I transfer what I've learnt in my legal studies to real life commercial situations?

Herbert Smith Freehills is a leading, full-service, global law firm working on some of the world’s biggest cases and deals at the forefront of the world’s most exciting sectors.

This talk is aimed at first year students and will explain the application of legal topics to a commercial context. It will do so by explaining the life cycle of a company. It will cover the work of both corporate and disputes lawyers, looking at the different roles of each. It will also explain the application process for our first year workshop.
