Mayank may be of interest to students with an interest in finance, investment, venture capital, and the City, and those who are entrepreneurial in any field.
Recognised as a Global Growth Company by the World Economic Forum, the Azibo Group and its subsidiary companies Currencies Direct and TorFX are one of the largest foreign exchange payments specialists in Europe. From humble beginnings the group has grown to a value of £145 million and remains free of any debt.
Until 1996 large financial institutions had a monopoly in providing international payments and foreign exchange services to private customers and small to medium sized businesses. Mayank’s determination to challenge the big financial institutions led to the creation of Currencies Direct which at the time was one of the first non-bank operators outside of the banking world to provide such a service to the business sector.
Mayank's portfolio of business achievements includes Cranfield University School of Management’s highest honour – the 2014 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award, Entrepreneur of the Year from both BT and London Business Awards and listing as one of Britain's top 100 entrepreneurs by Management Today. In the 2011 Queen's Birthday Honours, Mayank was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to Financial Services and Entrepreneurship.
Mayank is a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF), a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), a board member of Cranfield University School of Management Advisory Board, a leadership mentor at University of Birmingham and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA).
