Worklink

Worklink provides a wide variety of work opportunities for students on campus, increasing confidence, professionalism and organisational skills. This service presents the opportunity for students to gain transferable basic skills and in some instances graduate-level employability skills as part of student work at the University thus enhancing the student experience and the ability to earn whilst studying.

For further information please visit the Worklink website. You can also contact the team on 0121 414 5000 or worklink@contacts.bham.ac.uk or come and visit us at the Guild of Students.

Student development at the Guild

In a time when getting your career off the ground can seem more difficult than ever before, getting involved in the Guild is a valuable way to improve your CV and stand out from the crowd.

The Guild of Students offers a range of support services; you can benefit from securing work experience through paid part-time work and volunteering. The Guild also provides you with the opportunity to develop transferable skills and build the confidence required for the competitive job market.

Volunteering & student groups

Get involved in student life! If you want to meet like-minded people, learn new skills or embrace student life outside of study, you can get involved in a society, a volunteering group, an association or, whilst in your first year, your residents' association.

Make the most out of university whilst you are here. Last year we had 8,459 members of the societies and associations attending the 4176 events that were run. 4,410 students volunteered accumulating a whopping 661,500 volunteering hours across the academic year!

Job Zone

The Job Zone provides access to hundreds of part-time vacancies – locally, within the Guild of Students, and vacation work all over the UK and overseas as well as employment advice, including drop-ins and workshops. All Job Zone vacancies are advertised at www.guildofstudents.com/jobzone and you are able to view them in our office based in the Guild of Students. Alternatively you can contact the team on 0121 251 2500 or jobzone@guild.bham.ac.uk.
