A Business Idea over Coffee

Do you have a business idea? Do you need help with your business plan or executive summary? Would you like advice over a free tea or coffee? If you have a business idea and would like to take it further, why not come along to Starbucks on March 10th and gain advice on how to take the idea forward. Our BSEEN programme manager Paul Adams will be on hand to give you tips and advice on how to develop the idea and give you the tools you need to progress. Maybe you are involved with a society, maybe you would like to offer your services as a tutor, or maybe you have invented a new mobile phone app and need the advice to make it real. Whatever your idea and whatever stage you are at with it, this is a fantastic opportunity to speak to an expert with experience in business start-ups and enterprising.

Considering a career as a Freelancer in the Creative industries? Working for yourself sounds a very attractive option for many and can be very rewarding if it is done right. Find out the advantages, disadvantages and the typical day to day experiences of those who have been there and experienced it. Entrepreneur David Bozward will be coming to the University of Birmingham to offer a 'learning by doing' approach to freelancing. This is a fantastic opportunity for College of Arts & Law students as well as anyone who is considering a career working in the creative industries or media sector.This event is managed by Entrepreneurship & Innovation, University of Birmingham. It is part-funded by ERDF (European Development Fund) through BSEEN.

Postgraduate Enterprise Summer School (PESS 2015)

Description
During an intensive week of training the Postgraduate Enterprise Summer School takes you through a wide range of specialist areas. Participants will work together in small teams to solve a real life strategy challenge being faced by an influential local organisation. Alongside the comprehensive programme of interactive professional skills training sessions, participants take part in visiting the organisation; research; guest speaker sessions and developing proposals to address the organisation's requirements. On the final day each team will present their findings back to a panel of the organisation's representatives.
