PSA student of the year nominee video transcript - Roshni Ruparelia

Title: PSA Student of the Year Nominee 2017 Roshni Ruparelia

Duration: 1:18

Hi, my name is Roshni and I am a third year dental student and I completed the PSA (Advanced).

Which activities did you undertake in order to achieve the PSA?

Completing the PSA involved me in doing a Spanish free language course on campus. I was also Treasurer of the Hindu Society at UoB, and I was a first year Rep for my dental school, and I also did some part time employment over summer back home in London.

What skills have you gained?

Doing so many activities all at the same time really helped me to develop my organisational skills but specifically from the PSA what I learnt was communication and how to portray the skills I developed to employers - which led me to get some more part time employment during the summer.

Do you have any advice for students who are thinking about enrolling onto the PSA?

My main tip for students who are considering completing the PSA is just have constant communication with the PSA Team. They were really helpful especially considering I have quite a busy timetable like all medicine and dental students seem to have, so just having that constant communication and helping them help me fit the PSA into my busy timetable was what I found most useful.
