In order to complete the Personal Skills Award, you must complete the compulsory PSA Completion Sessions.
What are the PSA completion sessions?
These sessions are designed to enable you to identify the skills you have developed through your extra-curricular activities; recognise how this impacts on your own employability; and articulate this effectively to employers in applications and interviews
The PSA Completion Sessions are split into two compulsory components:
- An ONLINE component. This is short online Completion Session module (circa 1 hour of independent study) that you can do in your own time, completed via the PSA Canvas course. You can complete this online component on either Autumn Term, or early Spring Term.
- A TAUGHT component. This is a taught (face-to-face) Completion Session workshop. These workshops are 2 hours long, and will take place early in Spring Term.
Why do I need to attend?
Attendance at the Completion Session is compulsory if you are completing the Personal Skills Award. The workshops will help you to reflect on and articulate the skills you have developed whilst at university.
This 2-hour session is designed to enable you to identify the skills you have developed through your extra-curricular activities; recognise how this impacts on your own employability; and articulate this effectively to employers in applications and interviews. It will also prepare you for completing the PSA summative assessment (the PSA Completion Form).
You should only attend a completion session in the year that you expect to complete the PSA.
Following the completion session, you will be asked to submit your PSA completion form.
It is strongly recommended that you have completed the PSA Completion Session Online Component before attending the PSA Completion Session Taught Component.
Dates, times and locations
The completion sessions will be held during spring term 2018 up until the completion deadline of 12 February 2019. Confirmed dates and times will appear on the PSA Canvas page under 'Completion Sessions' in autumn term. Workshop locations will be confirmed as detailed below.
