About the library

The Dental Library supports the staff and students of the School of Dentistry. It is situated on the fifth floor of the Dental Hospital in Birmingham city centre. 



The library has two computers which are available for individual study. You will need your Active Directory username and password to log in. 

Photocopying and printing  

Photocopying and printing operate via the charged printing system. Staff at the issue desk are able to credit your account for you. 


The Dental Library houses the main collection in the fields of dentistry and biomaterials. The collection contains monographs, periodicals, theses, videos and electronic media. We currently subscribe to about 80 periodicals. The book collection numbers around 5000.

Special Collections material in the field of Dentistry is housed in the Heslop Room in the Main Library.

All libraries and resource centres offer the following services:
