Allport Room weekend opening hours, by arrangement, are 10:00-18:00, Saturday and Sunday. Browsing access to the Research Reserve is not available at weekends.
The room is also open Monday-Friday 08:00:18:00 and a prior arrangement is not necessary. The room has a microform reader and a book scanner for all patrons. A networked printer/copier and a PC are also available for University staff and students.
Material held in the Research Reserve can be requested for fetching via the item entries in the FindIt online catalogue. You will receive an email to your University of Birmingham email address when items have been fetched: please allow 48 hours.
- Loanable items can be collected from the requested item shelves in the Main Library.
- Reference items can be consulted via the Allport Room during opening hours. Please use the ‘further information’ field of the request form to provide details if needed.
- You must book at least 24 hours ahead, and make sure you have received a confirmation email before the visit to the library
