Opening hours

 

Main Library access during the examination period: 22 April to 21 June 2024

Visitors and reference members: visitor access to the Main Library is restricted during the revision and exam period from Monday 22 April – Friday 31 May 2024.  During this time, due to pressure on study spaces for our students, we are unable to admit  day visitors or SCONUL Access Band R and fee-paying blue reference cardholders. 

We are also unable to assist SCONUL Access members who wish to register for a new library card during this period.  Normal service for these categories will resume on Saturday 1 June 2024. 

From 22 April – 21 June 2024, the Wolfson Room and the Library Lounge are restricted to University of Birmingham students only.  Anyone not in possession of a valid University of Birmingham ID card will be asked to leave.

Main Library

The Main Library is open 24/7, and will close at 22:00 on Sunday 2 June.

The Library's study spaces are available when the Medical School is open. The High Demand Collection is only open when the library is staffed.

Cadbury Research Library

Dental Hospital

We are currently making way for an enhanced learning space for staff and students in the School of Dentistry. Books and journals have now been moved to the Main Library where staff, students and visitors will be able to access material.  

We have now set up a book collection service in the Dental Hospital for registered staff and students in possession of a current University ID card.  Library books can also be dropped off in the book box.
