Your feedback on Main Library study spaces

In response to feedback from students, the Wolfson Room on the ground floor of the Main Library has been opened up on a trial basis to increase the space available for eating and drinking. This means that there are over 100 more study places where you can eat and drink whilst studying.

In other respects, the rules on eating and drinking haven’t changed apart from restricting drinks to bottled water only. Eating was never permitted in the old Main Library, except in the café. We know that there is demand for increased access to silent study areas and we are working hard to collect student opinion to inform decision making. There is a need to carefully balance calls for more silent study areas, with demands for eating and drinking and more social, group activities to be permitted in the library.

We encourage you to send your feedback and tweet us @UoBLibServices.
