Ordering electronic resources and journals – for staff

This form is for academic staff only. Taught and research students should either speak to relevant academic staff members or use MoreBooks@Bham to request individual books.

We continue to receive recommendations for new information resources via the form below, but please note that funds available for their purchase are limited. We shall review those requests if funds become available.

Please note that if you are requesting an essential resource to support a new taught course programme proposal please contact your Library Engagement Advisor to discuss further.

To request a new electronic resource, for example ejournals; ebook collections; multimedia resources; databases and primary source archives etc, please complete the form below. Please note requests for individual ebook titles for teaching purposes should be done via adding the item to the Resource List for that module and ‘Requesting a review’ of that list via the Resource Lists system.  Details on how to add items to a Resource Lists and how to ‘request a review’ can be found on the How to Use Resource Lists Canvas course. Requests for ebook titles for research purposes should be requested via your School/Department Academic Library Representative.

  • Please submit a brief case in support of purchase:
    For example: unique content and/or long-term relevance to research or teaching; indicators of quality such as impact factors, indexing etc.; named new staff arrivals needing this resource; new taught course/research grant details; if an e-text please list modules where this is an essential text; does it support bimodal education; does it replace existing print holdings etc.
