About

Web Timetables display data for the current academic year.

Students can access their personal timetable via the my.bham portal. Login and go to the my.timetables tab.

 Time periods

Timetable information can be filtered by date, day of the week, and time period or week.

The time periods or weeks it is possible to select include quick search options (this week / next week / last week), individual weeks of term (e.g. week Aut2 or Week 7, beginning 08 October 2018) and core periods in the academic calendar. The core periods available to select are:

  • Semester 1 (weeks Aut1-11; 01 Oct 2018-14 Dec 2018)
  • Semester 2 (weeks Spr1-11; 14 Jan 2019-29 Mar 2019)
  • Semester 3 (weeks Sum1-8; 29 Apr 2019-21 Jun 2019)
  • Revision week (week Sum1; 29 Apr 2019-03 May 2019)
  • Examination weeks (weeks Sum2-6; 06 May 2019-21 Jun 2019)
  • All term time (weeks Aut1-11, Spr1-11, Sum1-8; 01 Oct 2018-21 Jun 2019)

Printing

To print a timetable, select the criteria you are interested in and click the ‘view timetable’ button to display the timetable, and then select the ‘print’ option from the bottom of the screen. This option will allow you to use the print settings already installed on your PC, including ‘print to PDF’ if enabled on your local machine.

Timetable formats

Timetable information can be displayed in two formats: Grid and List.

Grid format

The grid format shows activities/bookings within a visual timetable grid. Days of the week are displayed down the left-hand side and times across the top of the grid. The subject of the timetable (e.g. in the image below a location, 52 Pritchatts Road SG07) and the time period the information relates to are displayed at the top of the screen.

Individual activities displayed using the grid timetable format include the following information:

  • activity description - based on the module name, Banner code and activity type. For example, LI Cognition Infants  + Child (08660)/Lecture
  • academic staff member assigned to the activity
  • weeks the activity takes place
  • activity type, for example seminar or lecture
  • location the activity is scheduled in

List format

The list format produces a list with each activity/booking displayed individually, by day of the week. 

Student-Timetable-List 

Individual activities displayed using the list format contain more information than those displayed using the grid format.

Each individual activity includes the following information:

  • activity description - based on the module name, Banner code and activity type. For example, LI The Develop of Attach Behav (08657)/Lecture
  • activity type, for example seminar or lecture
  • start time of the activity
  • end time of the activity
  • weeks the activity takes place
  • location the activity is scheduled in
  • academic staff member assigned to the activity
  • department responsible for timetabling the activity
