The course consists of five stand-alone workshop style sessions and is aimed at PGRs (PhD/MPhil) of any discipline who have English as an additional language. The overarching aim of the course is to help PGRs to reflect on the challenges faced by research students common to various disciplines at different stages of the thesis writing process. Sessions are led by an experienced BIA Academic English tutor who will provide tips and strategies facilitate the sharing of experience and resources among the international PGR community.

Session Outcome

By attending the session, students will be able to understand the function of a literature review and decide why, where and how to review the literature in their own thesis.
