Academic English for PGRs: Using supervisor feedback effectively

The course consists of five stand-alone workshop style sessions and is aimed at PGRs (PhD/MPhil) of any discipline who have English as an additional language. The overarching aim of the course is to help PGRs to reflect on the challenges faced by research students common to various disciplines at different stages of the thesis writing process. Sessions are led by an experienced BIA Academic English tutor who will provide tips and strategies facilitate the sharing of experience and resources among the international PGR community.

By attending the session, students will be able to:

• Respond in appropriate ways to supervisor feedback, interpreting critical comments and transforming these into specific actions to improve their writing and research.
