During Welcome, key activity will again centre around a series of marquees based in Chancellor's Court, known as the Welcome Village. We will also begin to utilise space in the Green Heart for music, sports demonstrations and catering outlets.
View the opening times for each venue (tbc for 2019).
There will be three large marquees located in Chancellor's Court, providing the following services:
Welcome Marquees - the locations of the marquees are still being finalised for 2019
|International Welcome Hub
||Providing Right to Study checks and ID card collection for international students who have collected their Biometric Residence Permit off-campus, or who do not require one.
|Welcome Registration Hub
||Providing ID card collection for UK and EU students, production of proof of study letters for all students, and help with Online Registration for all students.
||On Saturday 21 - Sunday 22 September (10:00 - 16:00) and Monday 23 September (10:00 - 17:00) this will provide an exhibition style event for departments from across the University and selected external partners to promote their services to students and their guests. From Tuesday 24 September onwards, the marquee will be used by a variety of departments to host events.
We will also be utilising other key venues during Welcome:
Other Welcome venues
The location of the BRP Zone is still being confirmed for 2019.
International students can collect their Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) if they have opted to collect it from campus. Collection is by appointment only, and students will complete their Right to Study check and collect their ID card at the same time.
Note: students are required to select where they will collect their BRP when they apply for their visa (e.g. campus or a Post Office), which will then be stated on their decision letter.
Students who have visited the BRP Zone do not need to visit the International Welcome Hub.
Will host the Banking Fair, which provides students with the opportunity to meet different banks and get information about opening an account. The venue will be open during Arrivals Weekend and the Monday and Tuesday of Welcome Week.
||Will host the Parents' Welcome Addresses over Arrivals Weekend, and the VC's Welcome Addresses during Welcome Week.
|Guild of Students
||Will host the Guild of Students' programme of events, including the Freshers' Fair and Societies Fair.
|Sport & Fitness
||Will host the Sports Fair.
Students can create their own personalised timetable including both their school or department induction events and other activities happening across campus using the Welcome Timetable.
