The University of Birmingham is the only UK university with its own railway station on campus, known as ‘University Station’.
The Station is a great asset to the University making travel by train a convenient option being only two stops (8 minutes) away from Birmingham New Street where links are available to many locations across the country.
For all timetable information visit National Rail.
The station is one of the busiest in the region so can get crowded at peak times so where possible please utilise the additional machine in University centre. London Midland have recently employed more staff to manage the queues and the machines now accept contactless payment which should decrease waiting times further.
Additional ticket machines in University Centre and Murray Learning Centre
You can now avoid the queues at University station and purchase your train tickets and collect prebooked tickets at the vending machine in University Centre, next to Spar. Find out more about the train ticket vending machine.
An additional ticket machine has now been installed in the Murray Learning Centre (R28 on the campus map). The machine is located in the entrance foyer of the building.
