Accessible Campus

The University has an active programme of works to improve accessibility across campus. The accessibility map of the Edgbaston campus shows disabled parking bays, level access entry points and accessible toilets.

Disabled Go have also mapped the majority of buildings on campus, setting out the access to each.

If changes are needed to your place of work to help you undertake your job, this is likely to be addressed as a 'reasonable adjustment' to support you in the workplace. The Staff Disability Adviser can advise on this.

Any maintenance issues (such as lifts being out of order) should be reported to the Maintenance Team on ext. 46406 or via repairs@contacts.bham.ac.uk.

Parking on campus

The majority of University buildings with dedicated parking have blue-badge parking bays. If you need additional blue badge parking bays at or near your building, please contact Hospitality and Accommodation Services - Car Parking as below.

Staff who are blue badge holders are entitled to free on-campus parking. To access this, you need to complete the staff parking permit form and provide a copy of your blue badge. Copies of the parking form are available on the car parking intranet page or by contacting Hospitality and Accommodation Services directly:

Email: carparking@bham.ac.uk

Telephone: 0121 414 2623 (extension 42623)

Intranet: Car parking

The University's traffic regulations are actively enforced and cars parked in dedicated bays without a blue badge will incur a fine. If you are concerned about misuse of blue badge bays, please contact Security on ext. 43000.
