 The College of Arts and Law Marketing and Communications team are responsible for the delivery of student recruitment activities, promoting our research, digital communications and events management. We work closely with academic and professional service staff in each of the five schools in the College, to ensure that our courses and our research are promoted externally. Our work includes organising AVDs, UG and PG open days, virtual open days, writing and producing course brochures, digital advertising, conducting market research, recording and editing films, supporting our research priority areas and impact case studies, organising academic conferences and supporting a number of overseas recruitment trips per year.

The College of Medical and Dental Sciences Marketing and Communications team work together to promote the College to both internal and external audiences in a professional and proactive manner covering all print and digital channels. We deliver student recruitment marketing across UG, PGT and PGR levels, communicate our research activity, manage all College web and digital activity, lead on internal communications, and support UG Admissions processes. We support colleagues across the College in all of our Institutes and Schools, and work with various teams, including the Research and Knowledge Transfer Office, Education Services and Support, and Admissions. We work very closely with all Admissions Tutors and Programme Directors. We are based in EF32a and EF33a in the Medical School and our door is always open so please do feel free to drop in any time.

 The LES Marketing and Communications team work with colleagues across the College of Life and Environmental Sciences, External Relations and the wider University to enhance the profile of our education and research to a wide range of external and internal audiences. We deliver a wide range of student recruitment marketing activities and enquiry management for our diverse undergraduate and postgraduate portfolios focusing on attracting and converting high quality applicants from the UK and overseas.We support research communications with a focus on areas of excellence and aspiration, manage College web and digital channels, champion brand identity, produce video content, conduct market research and support enhanced internal communications within the College. Our strategic objectives align with those of College and External Relations, supporting the University’s Strategic Framework and Size and Shape 2026 strategy.

Rachel Ellis

College of Engineering and Physical Sciences

The Marketing and Communications team for the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences manages a broad range of online and offline activities. The marketing team delivers student recruitment marketing to attract high quality undergraduates and postgraduates from the UK, EU and overseas for the College programmes. It also supports the recruitment and marketing activity in China for the Jinan-Birmingham Joint Institute, and for the EPS programmes at the University’s Dubai campus. The Communications team works to enhance the national and international reputation of the College, its Schools, its world-leading research and centres, and its academics. The team leads on internal communications for EPS and manages a series of events for staff and external audiences. It also works closely with University colleagues in the areas of media relations, public affairs and business development. The Outreach team runs a series of activities and events to raise aspirations for target groups to study STEM subjects.
