Central Staff Hub

The Central Staff Hub launched on Monday 4th January bringing together, within the Human Resources Department, the HR Operations, Recruitment, Immigration Compliance teams and the Payroll and Pension teams to set the foundations for a simplified and joined-up service delivery model.

We’ve listened to your feedback that it can be difficult to navigate to the correct team if you have a question regarding your employment or pay, and we also want to work more collaboratively on our end-to-end processes to make them as efficient and effective as we can.  We have begun to consolidate the HR, Payroll and Pensions intranet pages as we aim to make information easier to find when you search, and have started to add additional guidance and signposting to our HR portal.

In early part of this year all our teams will be moving to a new shared office space so you can speak to us face-to-face more easily.  We’ll be sharing more information on how to find our office once our move is complete.

How has this changed how you contact the Payroll team?

The Payroll Enquiries form has now been decommissioned. 

If you are an employee of the University, you can now contact the Payroll team by raising a case in the HR Portal.

All non-employees (including casual workers) can contact the team by sending an email to payrollqueries@contacts.bham.ac.uk.

If you had an open case raised via the Payroll Enquires portal prior to the 4th January, we will continue to resolve these as soon as we can.
