How is my salary paid?
Your salary will be paid monthly by bank credit transfer, unless your contract says differently.
When will my salary be paid?
Pay day is the day before the last working day of every month, except in August, when payment is on the Friday before the bank holiday or the last but one working day, whichever is earlier. See Payments to staff for dates.
As the University closes between Christmas and New Year, the second last working day in December falls before the holiday period and pay day is therefore before Christmas.
If you are paid weekly, you will normally be paid on Thursday each week; the exception is at Easter because of holidays, and at Christmas/New Year when multiple weeks are normally paid.
Who can help me solve a problem with my pay?
If you have been paid the wrong amount (pre-tax), or have a question about pay awards, salary progression or salary scales, please contact the HR Operations team.
If there is a problem with deductions from your pay, such as National Insurance, tax or student loan repayments, please contact the Payroll Team in the Finance Office.
