The grievance process
The University respects the right of members of staff to raise any appropriate grievances they may have relating to their work.
All parties concerned are responsible for working to resolve the grievance in the shortest time possible. Grievances should therefore be raised informally with the Head of School or Budget Centre in the first instance.
The University operates separate grievance procedures for support, administrative and other related, and academic staff. If the matter cannot be resolved informally, the appropriate grievance procedure should be used.
Guidance for managers
Access to the process maps setting out the grievance and disciplinary processes for each staff group is available from a University of Birmingham IP address by using your adf username and password.
