Employment conflicts

  • Disciplinary process

The disciplinary process is designed to ensure consistent and fair treatment when a matter of conduct or performance arises.

  • Grievance process

The University respects the right of members of staff to raise any appropriate grievances they may have relating to their work. The University operates separate grievance procedures for support, administrative and other related, and academic staff. If the matter cannot be resolved informally, the appropriate grievance procedure should be used.

  • Conflicts of interest

HR and Legal Services have developed a suite of documents to enable staff to manage their University duties along with their external interests so as to avoid any misunderstandings where conflict may otherwise occur. This includes guidance on outside activities for academic staff.
