Paragraphs 36-43 of the attendance management policy relate to time off for appointments. This is very briefly summarised below, together with a guidance memo sent to managers.
Where possible, employees should arrange general practitioner, dentist and hospital appointments in their own time. Where an appointment is in work time, staff should give their managers as much notice as possible. Senior managers may (but are not required to) grant reasonable paid time off to attend.
Members of staff will always be granted reasonable time off with pay to attend antenatal appointments.
