Changes to the campus guest WiFi service

Following feedback, we’ve made some changes to the new Edgbaston campus guest WiFi service, UoBGuestWiFi, in order to further improve the WiFi experience for visitors and guests to the University.

From Friday, 7 January, the duration of guest WiFi accounts will be extended from 24 hours to 30 days. This means that once visitors have registered with the guest service, their account will be valid for up to 30 days without the need to re-register and they’ll be able to automatically connect to the campus guest WiFi on the device they registered with for the duration of their account.

Once registered, visitors will now also be able to sign into the guest WiFi on a second device using their email address and the password they received when registering. If they forget this password then a reset password function is also available and a new password will be sent to their registration email address.

When visitors reach the end of the 30 days, they will receive an email to say their account is about to expire and that they will need to re-register if they wish to continue using the guest WiFi service.
