m365logoAs a student at the University of Birmingham you can download Microsoft Office through Microsoft 365 for free

Your access to Microsoft 365 will be available for the duration of your studies at the University and can be installed on up to 15 separate devices. 

What is Microsoft 365?

Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based collaboration service that brings together the following features:

  • The latest Microsoft Office desktop applications for up to 15 devices (5 PCs or Macs, 5 mobile phones, 5 tablets). This includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. In addition to PC and Mac, this is also available on Android, iOS and Windows Phone, which enables Microsoft content viewing and editing on the go.
  • Undergraduate (UG) and PostGraduate Taught (PGT) students also get access to Exchange Online, meaning your University email account is moved into the cloud. This gives you an enhanced mail storage of upto 50GB and allows you to access your email, contacts and calendar from any internet connected PC, Mac or mobile device.
  • Microsoft Teams - this is an online space where you can chat to fellow students, share files, take part in meetings and work collaboratively with your classmates.

With this powerful suite of solutions, you can work faster from virtually anywhere, on any device. 

What do you get?

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students will have access to all of the above features of Microsoft 365. 

Postgraduate Research students will not have access to Exchange Online as their mailbox will remain on premises.

How do you get access to Microsoft 365?

All students will be able to access their Microsoft 365 account by logging in to https://login.microsoftonline.com using your full student email address and password to log in.
