Accessing your student email account
All students can access their University email by logging into my.bham and clicking on the email link in the top right.
You can also login into your email account directly as long as you know which system your email account is on.
How do I know which system my email account is on?
If you are a Taught student (Undergraduate or Postgraduate Taught) then your email will be hosted on Office 365. You can log in using the instructions below.
If you are a Research student then your email will be hosted on the same system as staff, which can be accessed at https://mail.bham.ac.uk/
Logging into your Office 365 email account
You can access the Office 365 email system in 2 ways:
- By opening a web browser and navigating to outlook.bham.ac.uk
- By clicking on the 'UG/PGT Email' link in my.bham.ac.uk. If asked to login you'll need to enter your full University email address (in the format firstname.lastname@example.org) and your password.
