Architecture, Security and Innovation

Architecture

Enterprise Architecture (EA) is a discipline that defines and maintains the architecture models, governance and transition initiatives needed to effectively co-ordinate disparate groups towards common business and IT goals.

EA needs to link the University’s enterprise's business strategy to its change programs through the definition of Architecture models, Mechanisms, Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines.

Security

With the increased use of technology to store, transmit and retrieve information, we have become more exposed to increased numbers and types of threats. Effective Information Stewardship is a major theme in the IT Strategy. IT Services has started an Information Assurance initiative covering Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information as part of a move towards compliance with the international standards ISO17799 and ISO27001.
