Octave 3.8.2

GNU Octave is a high-level language primarily intended for numerical computations. It is typically used for such problems as solving linear and nonlinear equations, numerical linear algebra, statistical analysis, and for performing other numerical experiments. It may also be used as a batch-oriented language for automated data processing.

Accessing the software

To load the module:

$ module load apps/octave/3.8.2

An example command to include in your job script:

octave --no-window-system < octave-commands

where octave-commands is a file containing commands for octave to execute.

Accessing Previous Versions

Wherever possible, previous versions of this application will be retained for continuity, especially for research projects that require a consistent version of the software throughout the project. Such versions, however, may be unsupported by IT Services or the applications vendor, and may be withdrawn at short or no notice if they can no longer run on the cluster - for example, essential operating system upgrades may be incompatible with old versions.
