LES Student Leadership Academy Awards

Reps with their awards

Since 2014, the LES Student Leadership Academy (formerly the LES Rep Academy) has included an annual celebration event to recognise undergraduates in the College who have done an outstanding job in their role. In previous years this simply recognised the work of Student Representatives, but from 2019 this will also recognise the efforts of departmental student societies, E&D champions, BIFoR volunteers, PASS Leaders and Family Scheme parents.

These pages have been created to give you more information about the Rep Awards and provide guidance on creating and submitting nominations.

Guidance for writing a good nomination statement

We welcome all nominations, and nominations don’t necessarily have to be long to be effective. Having said that, please be sure to focus your nomination statement around the criteria for the particular category you are nominating them for. In addition to that, you could consider the following factors, which should help ensure you submit a robust nomination for the short-listing panel to consider:

  1. What has this student/society been like to interact with?
  2. What kind of efforts did the student/society go to in order to achieve the best outcomes for their students?
  3. How did this student/society enhance the student experience/what impact have they had?
  4. Did this student/society go above and beyond, and if so, how?

The nomination statement only needs to be brief, but feel free to write as much as you think is necessary.
