The School of Clinical and Experimental Medicine plays a major role in the research and teaching carried out by the College of Medical and Dental Sciences and brings together extensive expertise in a wide-ranging field of medical sciences with an integrated clinical and basic science portfolio, associating excellence in research, education and clinical leadership.

Research in basic and clinical sciences in these areas is fully integrated in the School, which offers state-of-the-art facilities, including the Institute of Biomedical Research and the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility .
