Biography

Ronni has over 15 years’ experience in higher education, research and funding administration. Before joining the Research Planning Team at Birmingham she was Research Impact Officer for Social Sciences at the University of Warwick and prior to that worked in research development, managing bids to research funders. Ronni has also worked for the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, with responsibility for implementing reviews of Higher Education in Further Education and has held a variety of roles at the Economic and Social Research Council, ranging from working on commissioning and evaluating ESRC-funded research to establishing the first of ESRC’s impact case studies.

Roles and Responsibilities

Ronni leads the research planning support for the Colleges of Life and Environmental Sciences and Medical and Dental Sciences. Working closely with the Directors of Research and Knowledge Transfer and Impact Leads across the two Colleges, and with Professional Services across the University her main responsibilities are to: provide dedicated support for embedding and enhancing research impact; provide advice, support and training to colleagues on research impact strategy and implement effective systems for management information and data capture. She is also currently working on developing guidance for research impact evaluation.
