Building a network can help you get ahead in your job search. It can help you to develop skills such as commercial awareness.

Before you start networking, make sure your profile is 100% complete. You should have a summary that clearly states your motivations, skills, and career interests/ambitions.

Once you have your profile set up, The next step is to try to make at least 100 connections.

Why LinkedIn Learning is useful

LinkedIn Learning has a course for everyone. From practical skills to make you the top candidate for your dream job to help when you transition from University to the workplace.

Industry experts have developed content around: virtual teamwork and remote working, personal branding, being professional in the workplace, presentation skills, assertiveness, and relationship building.

LinkedIn Learning can help you stand out with courses from Facebook Ads, Excel, GIS, Python, and R, so you have the skills asked for in the job specification.

If you are ready to apply for jobs, there are courses on interview success and how to succeed at assessment centres. All the content is accessible online and offline and across mobile, tablets, and laptops.

You can even add completed courses to your LinkedIn profile. Show them off and keep your learning history even after leaving the University.
