Community Buzz is the University’s community magazine which is distributed to over 40,000 homes in the local areas of Selly Oak, Edgbaston, Stirchley and other districts. The Community Buzz team organise the creation of two annual editions, which vary in their time of release seasonally.
The purpose of Community Buzz is firstly to attract more public visitors to campus for events and attractions, but to also inform the local community of estate development projects, University news and research initiatives of importance to them. It also promotes opportunities for the local community to get involved and work in partnership with the University.
Are you interested in featuring your stories in Community Buzz? The team release a call for content twice a year, by email, to a list of regular contributors from across the University. If you do not receive this communication, and would like to submit content in the future, please send your request to Sally Xerri-Brooks stating which area of the University you are from, and a short description of the type of stories you may submit. Please consult the current and previous editions for a flavour of the style of content we include.
