How do I book a place on a course?

To book a place or register your interest in any of our courses, please follow the details outlined on our course list on the Staff Development Intranet home page.

Will I receive confirmation of my booking?

Once you have booked onto one of our courses you should receive an email confirmation within two working days. You will receive joining instructions two weeks prior to your course, and a reminder of these joining instructions one week prior to your course. It is important to read the joining instructions as they will inform you of the location and time of your course, as well as any pre-course work required.

What do I need to bring with me?

Pen and paper or electronic device for making notes are always useful. However, handouts are available for most of our courses. Courses requiring pre-course work will be detailed in your joining instructions.

I can’t make a course that I have booked onto. What should I do?

We do understand that things happen, and you may have to give up your place on an course, but we would ask you to give us as much notice as possible. Many of our courses run at capacity and we would like to offer your place to someone else if you cannot make it. Please let us know at least, but preferably earlier than, before two working days of your course start date as a late cancellation could incur a cancellation charge as outlined in our cancellation policy.

How do I book onto the Recruitment and Selection Workshop?

Recruitment and Selection Training is now online. Delegates are able to self-enrol onto the Recruitment & Selection Canvas course. 

How do I undertake the Equality and Diversity training?

This is an online course that is available on the university intranet page. For more information, please visit the Equality & Diversity Training intranet page.

Will refreshments be available?

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. Water is available in the training room and/or the refreshments area for all courses. 

What lunch facilities are available at Park House?

You are welcome to stay within Park House Annexe for your lunch. Located between training rooms we have a refreshment room and you may use our small kitchen, which contains a refrigerator and microwave. There is a small café located in Park House which is open during term time, serving a small selection of hot and cold food. Please order hot food prior to 11am. Alternatively located within a short walking distance: Winterbourne House (G11), Gisbert Kapp (G8) and Alan Walters (R29).

I need a certificate following a course I have attended; will this be sent to me?

We do not issue certificates as standard following your attendance of our open courses, your attendance and completion of the course is recorded on your training record. However, we can provide certificates on request. If you require one, please contact

Are there parking facilities at Park House Annexe?

There are limited parking spaces available at the front of the building, which may only be used if you hold a valid purple pass or have a blue pass and pay £1. The parking meter is located in the main Park House car park, outside the front door.
