If you are travelling home for the Christmas break then please remember to follow Government guidance to help keep everyone safe. We’ve provided some helpful info below but you can also find out more on the Government's website.
Before you travel, plan ahead to avoid busy times and routes. Check your journey to avoid disruptions and follow safer travel advice.
If driving, only travel with members of your current household or the household you are going to join. If a family member is collecting you from University accommodation then only one person will be able to enter the building with you if you need help with your bag, and they must wear a face covering.
Highways England suggest that the motorway network is often quieter during the period 11:00-15:00.
When using public transport you must wear a face covering, unless exempt, sanitise your hands regularly, use contactless payment and keep a two metre distance where possible. There is local information available from West Midlands Network. It is expected that Birmingham city centre will be busier in the next few weeks with retail reopening and with students from different institutions heading home, so we advise that you leave plenty of time for your journey and avoid peak times where possible.
If you have any queries you can contact Transport for West Midlands at email@example.com.
Please check COVID-19 entry requirements for your destination country. You should also check with the travel company for the latest information before starting your journey.
