We hope you had an enjoyable bank holiday weekend. In today’s update, we share details of how you can access the Pause@UoB wellbeing service online and on the phone and how you can stay physically fit and healthy during lockdown with the Virtual Sport & Fitness Club.
We also share a video message that the Vice-Chancellor has recorded for students recognising the way in which our whole community has adapted to the challenging situation and the fantastic volunteering efforts that many have undertaken.

Are you a final year considering staying with us for postgraduate study?
If you choose us, we are offering a £1,500 tuition fee discount to current final year undergraduate students who return here to study with us at postgraduate level in 2020/21.
We’re delighted if you’re considering returning to the University for your postgraduate degree. We offer a range of options– whether you’re continuing your undergraduate subject or looking to change direction through a conversion degree – and we will continue to offer you the support, resources and academic expertise as you progress in your studies.
The Postgraduate Progression award will be available to students who are graduating in 2020 with an undergraduate degree, and progressing directly to a taught postgraduate programme with us in the 2020/21 academic year.
Find out more about the award and how to apply on our dedicated current students webpage, where you can also search our courses, check information on the Government’s Postgraduate Master Loan, and chat with our Postgraduate team online.
Pause@UoB: still here, still listening
If you were ever in the Library Lounge, you will have noticed the Pause team tucked away in the corner. The drop-in mental health and wellbeing service has now moved to an online and phone support service.
We hope it is reassuring to know that the professional team of therapists are still here offering support and advice. In fact, by teaming up with partners, the Pause@UoB service has now expanded to 7 days a week, 10am until 6pm.
Jane, who manages the service says, ‘It is such a privilege to be able to offer a friendly, experienced listening ear to students at UoB. The feedback we are getting shows us that the simple act of listening to someone, providing help and advice when needed, proves that we are very much needed.’
Students can contact Pause@UoB to discuss any worries or concerns. We can help you access more specific services, refer to other organisations and share useful resources.
Accessing Pause is simple - you can email or phone, and we will do our very best to help.
