Ukraine: Message from the Vice-Chancellor  

We understand that the situation in Ukraine and Russia may be distressing for our staff and students, particularly those with family, friends or other connections who may be affected. The University will continue to monitor the situation and keep the student community updated.

Guild Election: the results are in!

Did you catch Election results night last week? Thank you to all our student voters, candidates and everyone that took part in the Guild Elections. Congratulations to Acacia Matthews on being voted the new Guild President 2022/23 and to all the other newly elected Officers!

International Women's Day (IWD) 2022

IWD is an important day in the calendar and it was great to see everyone (including Old Joe!) supporting. There are still lots of ways you can get involved and show your support this month. Vice-Chancellor Adam Tickell and President of the Guild Mikey Brown explain how.

Commonwealth Day: Monday 14 March

Taking place in the Great Hall, join us for an exciting event to celebrate and learn more about the Commonwealth. This year's Commonwealth Day is particularly significant for the University, as our city prepares to host the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games this summer.

Wednesday 9 March, 6pm, Munrow Arena, UB Sport and Fitness

It's the BUCS Women's Netball Semi-finals. Come on down and support the Women's first team as they take on Exeter for a chance to progress onto the BUCS finals on Wednesday 23 March. The event will also feature a live performance from the Birmingham Pussycats. Free to attend.

Serious About Comedy 

Friday 1 April, 10.30am-5.30pm, Birmingham Rep Theatre

Come along to this exciting event mixing comedy with academia. Serious About Comedy will bring professional comedians, including some famous names, together with academics from across the College of Arts and Law, students and the public, in a shared pursuit of learning and laughs. UGS Talks: Postgraduate Being Enterprise

The event features talks by four enterprising postgraduates who have made the leap to start their own business, followed by the chance to network with colleagues over refreshments.
