Updated information: USA Travel Ban – Advice and Support

In light of the new USA travel ban, which will take effect from the 16 March, we would like to reassure and remind our community of students that support is available to you. 

On Monday 6 March 2017, President Trump signed an updated executive order in the USA, which will impose a 90-day travel ban on nationals from the following countries:

  • Syria
  • Sudan
  • Libya
  • Somalia
  • Yemen
  • Iran.

Travellers with green cards or valid visas should not be affected by the ban.

Immigration and travel - advice and guidance

As part of their service, the International Students Advisory Service (ISAS) offer free and confidential appointments on immigration and other related issues to University of Birmingham students. 

Book an appointment to see an ISAS advisor. 

During the appointment, the ISAS advisor will offer specialist advice on a wide range of issues including immigration and travel.

Students who are currently on exchange at a US institution or are going on an exchange in 2017/18, and have dual nationality that includes one of the six countries please email the Study Abroad Office at: outgoingstudyabroad@contacts.bham.ac.uk.
