Phishing scam

It has been brought to our attention that a Birmingham student has been contacted by someone fraudulently claiming to be from the University requesting payment of fees. Please be aware that the University will not ask you to make a payment for tuition or accommodation fees over the telephone or via email.

If you are unsure whether an email is authentic do not click on any links, open attachments or reply. To check whether a communication from the University about fees is genuine please contact the Finance Office.  

If you think you may have compromised the safety of your bank details you should immediately contact your bank and report it to Action Fraud, by calling 0300 123 2040 or visiting their website.
