European Parliament elections, have your say and vote

The European Parliament elections take place this week on Thursday 23 May. We encourage all eligible students to vote.

As a student, if you are registered to vote, you are entitled to cast your ballot at either your home or your term-time address.

Students who are registered to vote should have already received a polling card with information on their polling station and how to vote on the day.

If you are a citizen of an EU country (other than the UK, Ireland, Malta and Cyprus) resident in the UK, you can either vote in the UK or in your home country. You cannot vote twice.

If you want to vote in your home country, you should contact the electoral authorities in the EU country where you’re a citizen.

To vote in the UK, you must have already completed the European Parliament voter registration form to confirm that you intend to vote here.

Further information can be found on the Government or the Birmingham City Council website.
