What's on at Spring into Summer

See some of the activities that you can take part in at Spring into Summer @UoB, all activities will take place on University Square unless stated otherwise. 

Students are expected to follow Covid-19 safe rules and guidelines at all times when on campus and to follow the covid safety rules associated with the event i.e.

  • Wearing a face mask within any of the tented/event areas unless informed otherwise.
  • Follow social distancing guidelines.
  • Sanitise hands on entering and exiting the activity.
  • Sign in using the NHS track and trace app (an alternative will be provided if you do not have the app). 
  • Do not attend if you have covid like symptoms.
  • Get tested regularly on campus.

Spring into Summer @the Square
Tuesday - Friday (11:00 - 15:00)

Enjoy tasty food at our outdoor dining stalls in University Square. Come along and grab a bite to eat from one of our outdoor dining street food market stalls. From 11:00 – 3.00pm you can enjoy a range of different food, this week you can enjoy some Mexican Cantina, Pan Asian and Middle Eastern Cuisine. There is also a Curry Club at Bratby bar who have seating outside University Centre.

Garden games
Tuesday - Friday (10:30 - 15:00)

Play crazy golf, giant chess or Connect 4 with your friends. No booking required, but you will be asked to register using the NHS Covid-19 app to aid track and trace. Availability may change depending on the Great British weather!

Outdoor classes with UB Sport and Fitness
Tuesday - Saturday 

Join the team at UB Sport and Fitness for some outdoor classes including yoga, Tai Chi and body combat.  Classes take place at the outdoor sports pitches.

Table Tennis with the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy
Tuesday 4 May (11:30-14:30)

Join us for a relaxed game of table tennis with Pastor Obi Iheoma from the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy. Have a chat, play a game, and enjoy some time in University Square!

Weaving dreams: Get creative with Pause@UoB
Wednesday 5 May (11:00-12:00 noon)

 Take part in an hour-long craft session and meet other students, as well as the team from Pause@UoB. You will be guided through the creation of a beautiful piece inspired by dream catchers, or a super useful keyring. No experience is needed, just a curious mind and a willingness to have a go. All materials will be provided.

World Portuguese Language Day:cocktail making class
Wednesday 5 May (18:00-19:00)

To celebrate World Portuguese Language Day join us for a Zoom session creating cocktails and mocktails and learning a little Portuguese too. This event is hosted by Gisele Tyba Mayrink Redondo Orgado (Dept of Modern Languages, UoB)

Bread baking with the Multi-Faith Chaplaincy
Friday 7 May (11:30-12:30 & 13:30-14:30)

Join Pastor Obi as he demonstrates how to bake tasty bread with simple ingredients and shows how you can too. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions to Pastor Obi, meet new students and taste some great bread.
