What are gender pronouns?

Pronouns are used in language all the time. Gender pronouns are the terms people choose to refer to themselves or others that reflect their gender identity. These might be gendered pronouns (e.g. he/him or she/her) or gender-neutral pronouns (e.g. they/them). While most people may use 'he/him' or 'she/her', these assumptions about the gender of a person based upon their appearance or their name aren't always accurate or helpful. Sometimes you may be asked about your gender pronoun on an event booking form (or other circumstances), this information will help us address each other correctly and respectfully.
