This highly practical workshop will cover the basics of Research Data Management (RDM), including creating a Data Management Plan (DMP). All PGRs who started their programme on or after September 2017 are required to have a DMP in place before completing their first annual review (GRS3). In this workshop, you will identify the research data you will create during your research, consider issues of security, sensitivity and storage relating to that data, and make a start on your DMP using the DMPOnline tool.
This course is aimed at postgraduate researchers who started their programme on or after September 2017 and are required to have a Data Management Plan in place before completing their first annual review (GRS3).
Workshops will take place on the following dates. Please click the link on your preferred date to book your place
Wednesday 5th February 2020. 2.00-4.00pm. Main Library Training Room (4th Floor)
Wednesday 11th March 2020. 10.00-12.00. Main Library Training Room (4th Floor)
If you are in receipt of funding from one of the UK Research Councils, a charity, or have commercial sponsorship, you may find it worthwhile to bring along any existing DMPs relating to the research grant award - this will aid in the development of your own DMP.
Please note: all our workshops are subject to a minimum registration requirement. If this is not met the workshop will be cancelled and you will be offered a place on an alternate date.
