Reading and note-making strategies

Tackling the mountain of reading you have for your research may seem daunting.  This workshop looks at strategies to help you select what to read, how to extract the most value from what you read and how to make effective notes from your reading.

Outcomes

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • select your reading strategically
  • plan your reading according to what you need to know
  • assimilate the purpose of texts quickly
  • apply techniques to improve your reading rate
  • apply techniques to improve your note-making

What to bring

Please bring some of your own reading material so that you can practise reading and note-making strategies during the session.

This course is aimed at postgraduate researchers.
