Case studies

To provide some concrete examples of data management across campus, we talked to several academics across campus about data management in their projects. These case studies resulted in short videos on the key issues they faced when tackling research data management. So far, we have talked to

-          Dr Andrew Bagshaw, Principal Investigator and Director of the Birmingham University Imaging Centre (BUIC) on managing data in line with the EPSRC policy framework on research data.

-          Prof Jon Binner, Deputy Head of the College for Engineering and Physical Sciences and Principal Investigator for the EPSRC funded XMat project.

-          Dr Danielle Fuller of the Department of English Literature on sharing data from the AHRC funded ‘Beyond the book’ project and working with sensitive data in her new ESRC funded project ‘Death before birth’.

-          Prof Anna Whittaker (was Phillips) of the School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences on data management for her H2020 funded Panini (Physical Activity and Nutrition Influences in Ageing) project.
