Feedback any issues to your student rep
Our Library Engagement Advisors attend staff student committee meetings and the student reps report things to them directly so they can be addressed. You can also contact your Engagement Advisor directly if you have any feedback about Library Services.
Make sure you have checked the Library course on Canvas
Each College has its own Library Canvas course, which contains useful information and news announcements. This is a great way to stay up to date, and you can usually comment on the posts.
Keep working on your academic skills
Check the Academic Skills Centre regularly for online help and new workshop dates.
Do further reading for your essays
Check LibGuides for information about your subject area – this is a great way of discovering hints and tips for learning and finding new material. Also look at journals on Browzine and browse by subject.
Explore a wide range of resources
We have many digital archives and online resources to enable you to go beyond your recommended reading. For example, Lexis has UK and international newspapers; we have the Financial Times and other newspaper archives; company and market reports; as well as lots of primary material. To see what we have use LibGuides or find databases on FindIt@Bham.
Explore ResourceLists further
Did you know that you can set up a profile on ResourceLists? This means you can make notes and save all your references for different modules in one place. To find out more about the student features of ResourceLists, watch our videos.
Explore unique collections
See the Cadbury Research Library's (CRL) exhibition in the Main Library's atrium. The CRL itself is housed in Muirhead Tower (Lower ground floor) where you can access archival material, including the University's archive, rare books, Noel Coward's papers, the Save the Children archive and ancient Middle Eastern manuscripts.
